The 5th Annual 12x12 Art Show is put together by the Gallery at Avalon Island in Orlando, FL. It has two objectives:

1. Raise $$$ to fund the placement of artwork in public places in Orlando.
2. Make original art affordable. All works are sold for $200 each with a 30% commission used to fund Objective #1.

This was my second year participating in this exhibition and I hope to continue. It's quite an event with a two-night opening, hundreds of gallery visitors, more than a dozen diverse artists each with at least 24 pieces, and lots of feedback from folks who I might normally not meet at openings.

For me this yearly exhibition allows me to produce a large number of pieces in a short time and clear the cobwebs so to speak. Exhaust a theme. Work fast. Think consciously as little as possible. It's a purging experience and once complete launches me back into my work with new vigor.
